It's nice to report that work has been completely uneventful. Which means, by extension, my life has been uneventful. The kids are all well and healthy; I haven't irked anyone to whom I am subordinate; I even have groceries and on-time rent, for the second time in my so-called adult life. My paperwork is doing that nifty thing where it falls off my desk and all over the floor, because, as usual, it's not finished.
There was some discussion about the future book, though, which got heated. Or, as heatead as it can get between a ten and twelve-year-olds. Needless to say, there were some choice insults exchanged, and absolutely no understamding was gained on either side. Also needless to say, that book is not coming on my the ward.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but Greyback was right. The Ministry was wrong, and Greyback was right.
I'm going mad, I think.
But if he can get into the Ministry, what's to stop him from ...
No. That won't happen.
First Full Moon for the kids with Wolfsbane. So far, am convinced this is a miracle. Aside from being sore tomorrow, there will be no injuries. None. It's brilliant all around! No ripped stitches or anything.
Oh woe is me, what will I do with my time? (I kid, I kid)

This ... this is disgusting. The eighteen year old they arrested? He's being executed, without trial, without any public proof of guilt. What's worse is it's being handled by Committee for Disposal of Magical Creatures. Creatures. The last time I looked, lycanthropy is a medical condition, and the person they're putting to death is indeed a person.
What's worse is what it's done on ward. I didn't think to keep the Prophet out of certain older hands, so yes, my kids know. Which would have been bad enough if they hadn't recently been questioned by Ministry officials, and if said officials hadn't been rude. But, no, no such luck. To their credit, the older ones didn't come right out and say anything to the younger ones; it just got spread through chatter. It's hard to say who gets the award for the most scared. I think it might be me.

Mungo's security has apparently been breached. We're in lockdown. Nothing definite, but apparently the witch in charge of the Nursery was attacked and Obliviated. They're searching the place now, but no one's dead.

This isn't like me at all, but Jesus, Mary, and Joseph. (I sound like my grandmum now, but she's a muggle, and hello, I'm rambling).
Some bloke jumped off the roof. Jumped. Off. the. Roof. Into the Muggles.
The only good news so far is that my kids are (relatively) unscathed.

I can't give you numbers; there's a gag order on the Healers and other staff who handled the crisis. I can, however, tell you that this it the worst attack anyone, even the senior Healers, have seen in a very long time.

Merlin, I can't believe I'm asking this again and so soon, but is everyone okay? I heard Quality Quidditch was demolished and Smarmson's dead downstairs. You lot in the Cauldron, were you all far enough from the chaos? Alice, have you heard from Frank? Lily, same question, but more in the James direction of things?
